The Telemundo Network announced it has entered into an agreement with the CBS Television Network to be the exclusive Spanish-language partner covering The 2nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Under the partnership agreement, Telemundo has secured the rights to produce a live two-hour pre-show, showcasing behind-the-scenes activities and celebrity interviews from the event at the Forum in Los Angeles, where the Latin music award ceremony will be held. Telemundo's pre-show, which will be hosted by Candela Ferro and Nadia Rowinsky of "Ocurrió Así" and Mauricio Zeilic of "Cotorreando," will air on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM live EDT/delayed PDT. Immediately following the pre-show the CBS Television Network will broadcast The 2nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards from 9:00 to 11:00 PM live EDT/delayed PDT.

"Telemundo is very excited to join CBS in offering the Spanish-language television audience an exclusive backstage pass to the Latin Grammys," said Alan Sokol, Chief Operating Officer for Telemundo. "The creative spirit, incredible diversity and artistic achievement of Latin music artists are embraced both by our viewing audience and advertisers alike."

Christina Aguilera, who was named Best New Artist at "The 42nd Annual Grammy Awards" and is currently nominated for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal, will co-host with Emmy Award-winner Jimmy Smits. Presenters for this year's Latin music award show include: Grammy Award nominees Jennifer Lopez and Paulina Rubio; Latin Grammy winners Celia Cruz, Shakira, and Arturo Sandoval. Also scheduled to present are: Nelly Furtado, Jon Secada, and actors Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Leguizamo and Lou Diamond Phillips.

The 2nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards will present awards in 38 key categories covering many genres and sub-genres of Latin music. In addition to its domestic broadcast, the show is expected to be seen in more than 120 countries. Among the stars scheduled to perform are Latin Grammy winners Carlos Santana, Luis Miguel and Marc Anthony; Latin Grammy nominees Juanes, Thalía, and Alejandro Sanz with Grammy winner Destiny's Child. Also performing together are Vicente Fernández with his son and Latin Grammy winner Alejandro Fernández.
