Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Patricia Marrero to the position of Vice President, Director of Sports Marketing, effective immediately. Marrero will be responsible for sports sales for the station group at the local and national level. She will report to Thomas M. Arnost, Co-President, Univision Television Group, and will be based in New York.

Patty has extensive sales experience, immense knowledge of the U.S. Hispanic market and extraordinary leadership skills that make her the ideal person to develop key client relationships and communicate to advertisers the outstanding business opportunities that exist in the fast-growing Hispanic market."

Marrero joined Galavision Cable Network in 1996 as an Account Executive. In 1999, Marrero was promoted to Manager, East Coast and Midwest Sales at Galavision. Most recently, Marrero was Vice President, National Sales at Galavision, where she developed new business, negotiated Upfront rates and directed a sales staff of 13. Prior to her work at Galavision, Marrero was an Assistant Vice President, Institutional Sales, at NatWest Bank, and Second Vice President, Trader and Product Manager at Smith Barney. Marrero graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a minor in Spanish.
