Entravision Communications Corporation announced that it has completed the acquisitions of WUNI-TV, Channel 27, serving Boston, Massachusetts, from Jasas Corporation for $47.5 million and WHCT-TV, Channel 18, serving Hartford Connecticut, from Astroline Communications Company and Two If By Sea Broadcasting Corporation for $18 million. WUNI is an affiliate of the Univision Television Network. WHCT, currently a Valuevision affiliate, is expected to change its call letters to WUVN-TV and become an Univision affiliate on March 1, 2001.

Through these acquisitions Entravision has created a New England television cluster serving Boston and Hartford, the 23rd and 28th ranked Hispanic television markets in the USA, respectively. The combined Boston and Hartford market is the 14th largest Hispanic market in the USA, with a Hispanic population of over 553,000. In addition, Boston is the fourth fastest growing Hispanic market in the top 50 Hispanic markets in the US. With the closing of WUNI and WHCT, Entravision owns and operates 18 Univision affiliated television stations across the nation.

The company also announced today that Gary D. Marder has been appointed General Manager of WUNI-TV and WHCT-TV. Mr. Marder brings to Entravision over 15 years of experience in the television industry and has served as the General Manager of WUNI-TV since 1996. In his new role, Gary will seek opportunities to increase operating efficiencies and drive cost savings between the two stations, while remaining focused on serving the needs of the New England Hispanic Community.

Walter Ulloa, Chairman and CEO of Entravision, commented, "With the addition of WUNI and WHCT, Entravision instantly creates a powerful platform serving one of the fastest growing Hispanic regions. This New England cluster marks our entry into the Northeast region, providing additional diversification of our asset and revenue base. Gary Marder's extensive regional experience and broad industry background provides a solid base from which to launch this cluster as we strive to become the premier media voice of the Hispanic community. We continue to seek opportunities to expand our television group in the New England region and throughout the nation, as we focus our Univision television efforts on the fastest growing Hispanic markets ranked 10 through 50."
