Telemundo Deportes begins its 100-day countdown and unveils coverage plans for the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, taking place June 17- July 2. The lineup will include close to 200 hours of programming on Telemundo and Universo, complemented by extensive news and analysis on and across the company’s platforms.

The live broadcasts will include all 16 matches, as well as pre-game and post-game coverage originating from Russia. This marks the first time that coverage of all Confederations Cup matches will be produced from all venue cities. Crews will be dedicated to covering the teams from Mexico, Chile and the other participating nations, and there will be FIFA Confederations Cup-specific shows airing at the start and end of each match day. In addition, “Titulares y Más,” the highest-rated weekday sports show in Spanish-language television among total viewers, will feature on-site segments, bringing the latest news and recaps of all the daily action, as well as additional coverage from Telemundo’s state-of-the-art studios in Miami, FL.

Telemundo Deportes’ Confederations Cup programming will also be available via live stream on desktops, tablets, the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo App, and for the first time ever, on connected TV’s, including Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire. Exclusive short- and long-form content will also be available. and the Telemundo Deportes App will offer comprehensive content, including general news and information, team and player profiles, features about the host country and much more. The digital coverage will be supplemented by extensive social media content on SnapChat, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms.

Telemundo Deportes’ award-winning team of on-air talent will be led by the internationally renowned commentator Andres Cantor, accompanied by Miguel Gurwitz, Ana Jurka, Sammy Sadovnik, Carlos Hermosillo, Copan Alvarez, Manuel Sol, Karim Mendiburu, Rosina Grosso, Leti Coo and Kaziro Aoyama. The team will be joined by special guests from the soccer world.

In addition, a variety of Telemundo and Universo programs will broadcast live from Russia throughout the tournament with a roster of talent reporting on site, including Daniel Sarcos and Rashel Díaz of “Un Nuevo Día,” María Celeste Arrarás of “Al Rojo Vivo,” and José Díaz-Balart and Luis Carlos Vélez of “Noticias Telemundo.” The Telemundo Station Group will also feature extensive coverage in their local newscasts and programming.

In line with the network’s vision of being ‘World Cup Great,’ the Telemundo Deportes executive team led by Warren, includes Eli Velazquez, Executive Vice President, Programming Production and Content, Telemundo Deportes, and Alina Falcon, Executive Vice President, FIFA World Cup Programming, Telemundo Deportes, who will be working alongside Jim Bell, President of NBC Olympics Production & Programming and Executive Producer of Telemundo World Cup. Warren announced the following additions to his team today – with more to be announced soon:

  •     Bill Bergofin, Senior Vice President, Brand and Content Development, Telemundo Deportes. Bergofin joins the team from NBC Sports in Stamford, where he was Senior Vice President, Brand and Content Services. He is responsible for elevating the awareness and increasing the audience for World Cup programming, the Telemundo Deportes brand, and the ongoing and growing Telemundo Deportes programming across all platforms.
  •     Sandra Rojas, Vice President of Marketing for Telemundo Deportes and Universo, is charged with overseeing the strategic development and execution of marketing initiatives for Telemundo Deportes and Universo, with a specific emphasis on World Cup programming, as well as spearheading the consumer marketing efforts to grow the awareness and audience for each brand. Rojas previously worked as Director of Marketing for FOX Deportes.
  •     David Benrey, Creative Director, oversees the development of original concepts and pitches for on-air and off-air promo campaigns, and works with in-house and out-of-house creative talent to develop outstanding creative for World Cup and Telemundo Deportes programming. Benrey joins the team from FOX Sports where he was Creative Manager of On-air Promotions.
  •     Gaby Nuñez, Director of Sports Publicity, is responsible for developing and executing strategic publicity campaigns for Telemundo Deportes through external consumer media and sports trade outlets, as well as cross-promotional efforts through the company’s internal platforms. Previously, Nuñez served as Manager of Communications for ESPN.

The team will continue to collaborate with the NBC Sports Group, combining expertise to maximize resources and solidify Telemundo Deportes as the leading sports programmer in Spanish-language television.
